My DS is a first year AFROTC cadet at Western Michigan Univ. and he recently told me that PDTs are mandatory - 1 for GMCs and 1 for POCs. So he'll be applying for a PDT to do this upcoming summer. However, he is also planning on taking summer classes and getting more flight hours - either WMU's Summer I or Summer II term.
